Bob White Quail are technically a different species of quail from Coturnix Quail. They are native to Ohio and other states so in order to own then, check with your local Department of Natural Resources to see if you need a permit. The sounds these beautiful birds make is calming and therapeutic. Many dog trainers, hunting clubs, and private land owners choose this quail over Coturnix as their populations have gone down drastically due to predators, hunting, and environmental reasons.
